About the position
The Student Information Systems Specialist is responsible for maintaining and updating the student information systems and reporting for all schools and departments within the Glastonbury Public Schools district. This role involves collaborating with various departments to ensure accurate data management and providing professional learning to staff. The position is essential for supporting the district's data processing needs and ensuring compliance with state and federal reporting requirements.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, support, update and upgrade all aspects of the student information systems.
- Assist with maintaining and providing accurate and timely data for State and Federal Reporting.
- Provide professional learning to administration and staff where and when appropriate.
- Work with administrators and staff across the district in setting up schedules, grading, attendance, reporting, communications, customization, and other data processing issues related to student information.
- Coordinate with departments regarding their needs as it relates to student and staff data (i.e. Nursing, Communications, Transportation, Library and Food Services).
- Assist with and support rostering instructional applications via several methods (i.e. CSV uploads, PowerSchool APIs, and syncing software such as Clever).
- Collaborate with other TIS members to diagnose, problem solve and resolve any technical issues.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or technical school.
- Minimum of one year of experience in a related field.
- Experience with Student Information Systems (PowerSchool preferred).
- Valid Driver's License in good standing.
