About the position

The Instructional Technology Assistant position is designed for undergraduate students at Purdue University Northwest, providing first-level technical support to faculty, staff, and students. The role involves troubleshooting various educational technologies and ensuring timely completion of assigned projects while maintaining a positive presence on campus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide first level support for faculty, staff, and students through various communication channels including Virtual Consultation tool, phone, email, or face-to-face.
  • Solve technical concerns related to Brightspace, Lecture Capture, Collaboration software, Web Conferencing, Active Learning Tools, and Accessibility Remediation.
  • Ensure projects assigned by the supervisor are completed in a timely manner.
  • Update social media with important information.
  • Work individually and/or in a group setting.
  • Utilize Microsoft tools, Google, and Adobe products.
  • Construct flyers and handouts.
  • Maintain a positive presence on campus and in the DLS during regular working hours, as well as off duty hours.

Requirements

  • Must be a current undergraduate student at Purdue University Northwest.
  • Minimum student enrollment status of 6 credit hours.
  • Maintain a GPA of 2.5 or above.
  • Experience in customer service.
  • Experience using help desk software and remote support tools.
  • Experience with learning management systems (Brightspace preferred).
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
