About the position

The Student Intern, Electrical Engineer (Power Production) role at Tucson Electric Power is designed for students pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in relevant engineering fields. The intern will assist in documenting existing systems and supporting the development and implementation of Power Plant Projects. This position offers part-time hours during the academic year and full-time hours during school breaks, requiring on-site presence at the Power Plant/Irvington location.

Responsibilities

• Review and submit Engineering Documents to assist in project completion.
• Utilize Engineering documents to ensure proper labeling of plant equipment according to TEP standards.
• Create system drawing packages for established processes to expedite troubleshooting.
• Review field equipment in comparison with engineering drawings to ensure correctness.
• Assist the Engineering group in routine problem-solving using fundamental principles of mathematics and physics.

Requirements

• Actively enrolled as a student at an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
• Expected graduation date of May 2025 or later.
• High level of interpersonal skills and ability to protect sensitive information.
• Ability to meet deadlines.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
