About the position

The Summer 2025 Student Intern in IS/Cyber Security at Versiti offers an immersive experience in cybersecurity and information technology. Under the guidance of the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and Security Admin, the intern will engage in various projects aimed at enhancing cybersecurity measures and refining corporate policies. This role is designed for students seeking to gain practical experience in a dynamic environment focused on improving patient outcomes through advanced medical services.

Responsibilities

• Perform assigned tasks and projects related to cybersecurity under the direction of the CISO and Security Admin.
• Participate in technology initiatives and refinement of corporate policies and processes.
• Engage in cyber education activities.
• Isolate legacy systems and assist in the implementation of a new security information and event management (SIEM) solution.
• Attend cybersecurity team meetings and participate in Cyber Incident Response Team (CSIRT) activities.
• Help plan cyber tabletop exercises.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a relevant degree program (e.g., Information Technology, Cyber Security).
• Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with security information and event management (SIEM) solutions.
• Knowledge of cyber insurance and customer/vendor contractual requirements.
