About the position
The Student Intervention Specialist (SIS) plays a crucial role in supporting at-risk youth by collaborating with classroom teams to develop, implement, and monitor individualized academic and behavioral programs. This part-time position focuses on empowering students and ensuring their safety and progress in a supportive educational environment.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with classroom teams to develop effective individualized academic and behavioral programming for students.
- Monitor and document behavioral progress for each student.
- Ensure the continuous safety of all students in the program.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance skills and effectiveness in the role.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Education or related field preferred.
- 5 years of experience working with at-risk youth (emotional/behavioral) preferred.
- Valid driver's license and current vehicle insurance required.
- Clearances: State Police, FBI clearance, child abuse clearance, and CPSL Mandated Reporter training.
Nice-to-haves
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is required for Pressley Ridge School for the Deaf; applicants not meeting this requirement must complete coursework after hire.
