The Student Learning Centers (SLCs) Office Clerk at Tacoma Community College plays a vital role in supporting the day-to-day operations of various tutoring centers, including the Business Education Center (BEC), Science, Engineering & Math (SEM) Tutoring Center, and the Writing & Tutoring Center (WTC). This position is specifically designed for current enrolled TCC students, emphasizing the college's commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive educational environment. The Office Clerk will provide essential administrative and clerical support to tutoring center staff, students, and TCC instructors, ensuring that all visitors receive timely assistance and guidance. In this role, the Office Clerk will be responsible for greeting and welcoming students as they enter the tutoring center, ensuring they feel supported and valued. The clerk will follow established policies and procedures, reminding students of these guidelines when necessary. Familiarity with TracCloud is essential, as the clerk will use this system to manage appointments, check out resources, and track student usage effectively. Additionally, the clerk will need to be knowledgeable about the resources available at the tutoring center and other Student Learning Centers, enabling them to assist students in finding the appropriate tutors for their subjects. Maintaining excellent communication with tutoring staff and supervisors is crucial, as is the ability to organize and tidy the tutoring center as needed. The Office Clerk will also be expected to work on various program-related tasks as requested by their supervisor. This position is part-time, with a commitment to working varied hours during weekday afternoons and early evenings, up to 16 hours per week. The salary for this role is set at $16.28 per hour, and flexibility in scheduling is required to meet departmental needs.
