About the position

The Student Life Assistant is a permanent part-time role focused on providing support within the Student Life Office. This position involves greeting and assisting students and guests, maintaining a welcoming environment, and executing various administrative tasks. The role requires effective communication skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a dynamic setting.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist students, personnel, and college guests to create a hospitable environment.
  • Plan and coordinate mini hospitality events to engage students in Student Life.
  • Answer phone calls and direct them to the appropriate source.
  • Execute communication with students through email and manage bulletin board postings.

Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree, with related experience preferred but not required.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new programs such as Moosend, Canva, Excel, Google forms/docs/sheets, eCams, and Google Calendar.
  • Ability to respond to written and verbal communications clearly and concisely.
  • Good mental agility and the ability to easily transition between tasks.
  • Competence in relational, interactive, and supportive skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with social media platforms like Instagram.
  • A friendly, welcoming personality and a desire to provide excellent customer service.
