The position involves delivering basic patient care, which includes activities of daily living, mobility using Safe Patient Handling techniques, and monitoring vital signs. You will work in collaboration with a designated Registered Nurse to enhance your basic nursing skills, which may include basic wound care, dressing changes, IV insertion and removal, urinary catheter management, blood glucose management, and NG insertion and management, all in accordance with Division of Nursing standards. This experience provides exposure to holistic nursing practice, applying new knowledge and expanding opportunities for career advancement. Responsibilities

  • Deliver basic patient care including activities of daily living and mobility using Safe Patient Handling techniques.
  • Monitor and record vital signs and oxygen saturation accurately.
  • Collaborate with a designated Registered Nurse to enhance nursing skills.
  • Perform basic wound care and dressing changes as needed.
  • Assist with IV insertion and removal, urinary catheter management, and blood glucose management.
  • Support NG insertion and management in accordance with nursing standards.
  • Adapt to various practice areas when needed.

Requirements

  • High School education or equivalent.
  • Currently enrolled in (or graduated from) an accredited nursing program, ADN or BSN, with validation of successful completion of nursing fundamentals skills.
  • Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
