About the position

The Student Nurse Tech position at Regency Hospitals is designed for individuals currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN). This role involves providing essential care to chronically and critically ill patients, assisting with daily living activities, and supporting nursing staff in delivering high-quality patient care. The position offers a pathway to transition into a New Grad RN role upon obtaining an RN license, with structured training and support.

Responsibilities

• Obtaining vital signs, height, weight, and demographic data.
• Assisting patients with personal and daily care, such as bathing, oral hygiene, and hair care.
• Assisting with urinary catheter removal and specimen collection.
• Removing peripheral IVs as directed by RN (with restrictions).
• Delivering meals and snacks, and feeding patients who are unable to feed themselves.
• Turning and positioning immobile patients safely while maintaining proper body alignment.
• Answering patient call lights and performing services that enhance patient well-being.
• Transporting patients to designated areas, such as treatment centers.

Requirements

• Current enrollment in an accredited nursing school (ADN or BSN program).
• Proof of completion of the first year/fundamentals of nursing (or equivalent).
• Knowledge of basic nursing techniques and procedures and aseptic practices.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to maintain effective working relations with patients, families, and hospital staff.
• BLS certification required.
