About the position

The Student Office Assistant position at SOBEWFF® involves supporting the planning and coordination of festival-related activities. This temporary role is designed for current Florida International University students who will assist with various tasks leading up to and during the festival week, ensuring smooth operations and effective communication among team members.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with planning and coordination of festival-related duties.
  • Participate in meetings, orientations, and site inspections prior to the festival.
  • Support the Auction Manager in managing donations and auction logistics.
  • Help manage the online auction platform and assist in marketing efforts.
  • Verify product information and assist with logistics for supplier participation at events.
  • Participate on-site during the festival to handle any issues with supplier products.
  • Assist with data tracking and spreadsheet management using Microsoft Excel and Airtable.

Requirements

  • Current enrollment as a student at Florida International University during the 2024 Fall and 2025 Spring semesters.
  • Previous experience with SOBEWFF® or in a related industry is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work in a high-stress team environment.
  • Effective communication and strong customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word), Google Drive, Outlook, and Zoom.
  • Reliable transportation for meetings and site visits.
  • Access to a laptop, email, smartphone, and reliable internet.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Ability to perform light physical labor and heavy lifting as needed.
  • Flexibility to work on Saturdays leading up to the festival.

Benefits

  • Pay rate of $14.00/hour with a maximum of 20 hours per week.
