About the position
The Cincinnati Insurance Companies are seeking undergraduate interns for the IT Developer Internship for Summer 2025. This role offers a meaningful work experience in a supportive environment, with opportunities for remote or hybrid work. Interns will engage in various activities to understand the corporate structure and contribute to team projects, while developing their skills in information technology and insurance.
Responsibilities
- Assist with business activities and processes
- Participate and contribute to team meetings, presentations, and projects
- Generate reports, promotional/educational materials, and other work products
- Serve internal and external customers
- Research, understand, and author technical documentation
- Utilize available resources to resolve technical problems
Requirements
- Enrolled as a full-time, undergraduate student at an accredited college/university (sophomore or above preferred)
- In good academic standing (cumulative GPA: 3.0 or higher preferred)
- Proficient in Microsoft® Office tools and related software
- Ability to work up to 40 hours per week
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as PowerShell and VBScript
- Understanding of computer networks (TCP/IP protocol, load balancing, monitoring, etc.)
- Knowledge of databases, simple data analysis, and reporting
- Prior experience in customer-facing service work
Nice-to-haves
- Knowledge of object-oriented programming concepts and languages
- Understanding of Linux/Windows server platform and virtualization
- Willingness to continually learn new technologies and skills
- Awareness of current and emerging technology trends
- Effective communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
