About the position
The Occupational Therapy Assistant Student at Powerback Rehabilitation is responsible for implementing and providing occupational therapy treatments to patients under the supervision of licensed professionals. This role focuses on enhancing patient independence and functioning through personalized therapy programs, while adhering to established care plans and documentation protocols.
Responsibilities
- Implement occupational therapy programs and provide treatments to patients under supervision.
- Attend and contribute to patient care and staffing conferences as a representative of occupational therapy.
- Ensure effective delivery of rehab services and timely documentation of services with supervision.
- Collaborate with the rehabilitation team to develop programs and activities tailored to patient needs.
- Instruct patients, families, and caregivers in occupational therapy techniques under supervision.
- Maintain appropriate and timely documentation for all patients treated with supervision.
- Clean, maintain, and report the need for repair of therapy equipment as necessary with supervision.
- Prioritize patient service to ensure high-quality care in a compassionate atmosphere under supervision.
- Implement individualized treatment plans established by the primary Occupational Therapist with supervision.
- Provide individualized occupational therapy interventions in various areas such as cognitive skills, muscle strength, and activities of daily living under supervision.
- Organize and facilitate treatment groups in consultation with the Occupational Therapist and/or Occupational Therapy Assistant.
- Perform other related duties as required with supervision.
