About the position

The Student Rec & System Data Specialist at Charter Schools USA (CSUSA) plays a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of student data within the school's information systems. This position involves collecting, entering, and maintaining student and school data in compliance with state and district requirements, thereby supporting optimal student funding and operational compliance. The specialist collaborates with various stakeholders to manage student records, attendance, and special programs data, while also preparing for state reporting and assisting in marketing and enrollment efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and enter student and school data into district and CSUSA systems following state and local requirements.
  • Verify, correct, and audit data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain student records, attendance information, and grade reporting in the Student Information System (SIS).
  • Coordinate with various CSUSA departments to ensure optimal system usage.
  • Assist in clearing error reports for proper database maintenance.
  • Consult with personnel to assist in student scheduling and procedures.
  • Enter daily attendance and maintain accurate attendance reports.
  • Manage Free and Reduced Lunch (FRL) applications and ensure data accuracy.
  • Request and maintain transcripts and other official student documents.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations regarding student records and data integrity.
  • Prepare documents for data entry into school and district/state databases.
  • Cross-train others on critical data functions and provide updates on projects.

Requirements

  • 2-year college degree or equivalent experience (required) or higher (preferred).
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant experience in data management or a related field.
  • Proficient experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Student Information Systems (SIS).
  • Detailed knowledge of Federal, State, and local requirements for K-12 schools and charter school law preferred.
  • Excellent organization, time management, and follow-up skills.
  • Strong communication skills: oral, written, and interpersonal.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual skills are a plus but not required.
  • Experience in a school environment or with student data management.
