About the position

The Student Recruiter plays a pivotal role in the Nursing School at LSU Health New Orleans, reporting directly to the Assistant Dean for Student Services and indirectly to the Dean for school-wide marketing initiatives. This position is characterized by a high degree of independence in recruiting and advising prospective students. The Student Recruiter is responsible for developing, promoting, coordinating, and actively participating in various student recruitment activities. This includes managing the entire recruitment process from initial inquiry through to enrollment, ensuring that potential students receive comprehensive support and guidance throughout their journey. In this role, the Student Recruiter will engage with prospective students, providing them with information about the Nursing School's programs, admission requirements, and the benefits of studying at LSU Health New Orleans. The incumbent will also collaborate with faculty and staff to enhance recruitment strategies and outreach efforts, aiming to attract a diverse pool of applicants. The position requires a proactive approach to building relationships with potential students and stakeholders, as well as a commitment to promoting the values of diversity and inclusion within the recruitment process. The Student Recruiter will also be involved in follow-up activities to ensure that inquiries are addressed promptly and effectively, contributing to a positive experience for prospective students. This role is essential in shaping the future of the Nursing School by attracting and enrolling qualified candidates who will contribute to the healthcare field.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract prospective students to the Nursing School.
  • Coordinate and participate in recruitment events, such as open houses and information sessions.
  • Provide guidance and support to prospective students throughout the recruitment process, from inquiry to enrollment.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to enhance recruitment efforts and outreach initiatives.
  • Maintain relationships with high schools, community colleges, and other organizations to promote the Nursing School's programs.
  • Conduct follow-up communications with prospective students to address inquiries and encourage enrollment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in business, recruitment, and/or marketing.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in higher education recruitment or student services.
  • Familiarity with marketing strategies and tools.
