About the position

The Student Recruitment Specialist position at Florida International University (FIU) is designed for undergraduate students who are enthusiastic about promoting the university and assisting prospective students. This part-time role involves conducting campus tours, managing social media content, and providing information to prospective students, all while gaining valuable professional development experience.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct tours of MMC and BBC to prospective students and select university partners and stakeholders.
  • Staff the Office of Admissions welcome desk to answer questions and provide information to prospective students.
  • Input contact card information into FIU database for prospective students.
  • Manage and create content for the Join FIU social media accounts.
  • Create welcome packets with FIU collateral pieces for prospective student groups, FIU departments, and Office of Admissions recruiters.
  • Maintain and update an inventory list of materials and supplies for admissions-related events.
  • Support supervisors with annual Admissions events, including Fall Showcase and Admitted Student Day at MMC and BBC.
  • Remain up to date on FIU policies and practices to accurately inform prospective students about details related to the University.
  • Receive and maintain all trainings/licenses related to specific Admissions/Enrollment functions.
  • Perform other related duties as required or as directed.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled as a student at FIU with a minimum of six (6) credits as an Undergraduate student or three (3) credits as a Graduate student during the Fall and Spring semesters.
  • Customer service knowledge.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
  • Ability to take direction and work independently as needed.
  • Consistent attendance and punctuality is required.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with highly sensitive information.
