About the position
The Student Research Assistant position at Cal Poly Pomona Foundation involves assisting in research focused on developing an AI-powered decision support system for trajectory prediction of aerial vehicles. This part-time role is designed for undergraduate or graduate students pursuing degrees in Science or Engineering, providing valuable hands-on experience in a collaborative academic environment under the supervision of Dr. Shokoufeh Mirzaei.
Responsibilities
- Assist in literature review related to AI and decision support systems.
- Develop an AI-powered decision support system for trajectory prediction of aerial vehicles.
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and students on research projects.
- Utilize Python programming for machine learning applications.
- Prepare reports and presentations using Microsoft Office tools.
Requirements
- Must be a Cal Poly Student pursuing an Undergraduate or Graduate degree in Science or Engineering.
- Experience with Python programming.
- Knowledge of machine learning and AI concepts.
- Ability to conduct literature reviews.
- Excellent English verbal communication and writing skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with instructional design using Canvas.

- Experience working with High-Performance Computing (HPC).
