About the position

The Student Social Media Manager at Purdue Northwest is a creative role designed for students to enhance engagement through social media. This position involves content creation, management, and analysis across various platforms to promote the initiatives of the Dean of Students and foster student involvement.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, schedule, and publish engaging content on social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn).
  • Utilize Canva to design visually appealing graphics, infographics, and promotional materials.
  • Monitor and analyze social media engagement metrics to optimize content and strategy.
  • Collaborate with the Dean of Students and other departments to align social media efforts with university events and campaigns.
  • Respond to comments and messages in a timely and professional manner.
  • Stay updated on social media trends and best practices to ensure the university's social media presence remains current and effective.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of social media campaigns and contests.

Requirements

  • Current student at Purdue University Northwest.
  • Proficiency in Canva for creating social media graphics.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and engagement analytics.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Creative mindset with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
