About the position

The Student Videographer position within the Marketing Department at Liberty University focuses on producing high-quality visual content that documents the university's history and promotes its mission. The role involves event-based video coverage, assisting in large set productions, and video editing, requiring candidates to be familiar with the entire video production process and various camera platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Research existing and emerging technologies and industry benchmarks related to video production.
  • Brainstorm and develop video concepts in cooperation with university brand initiatives; attend weekly production team meetings.
  • Conduct event-based video production, interacting with clients and operating video and audio equipment; transport and set up lighting and audio equipment as required.
  • Perform video post-production tasks including sorting and organizing footage, making editorial decisions, and final editing using Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Communicate with the marketing team during the editing process and obtain approval from all individuals involved in each project.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1 to 3 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient in using an Apple computer platform and experienced in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Adobe Premiere.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of color grading and motion graphics.
