The Office Assistant position in the Communications and Marketing department at McDaniel College is designed for current students enrolled at the college, specifically those eligible for work study and campus employment. As an Office Assistant, you will play a crucial role in helping the department maintain organization and efficiency. Your primary responsibilities will include providing administrative support, which involves submitting and reviewing entries for the college's event calendar, assisting in the writing of news releases and other marketing materials, and creating Excel spreadsheets to aid in departmental analysis and planning. Additionally, you will conduct internet and social media research, update information on the college's website, and assist with social media posts on the college's official accounts. Tracking media coverage and managing the department's email and voicemail systems will also be part of your duties. This position requires a commitment of 6-8 hours per week, with the office open Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, and may include some evening or weekend assignments as needed.
