About the position

Nevada State University invites applications for the position of Student Worker - ITS Front Desk Receptionist. This role is essential in providing tier 1 walk-in support to students, faculty, and staff, ensuring that their technical issues are addressed promptly and professionally. The receptionist will assist with account issues, including basic troubleshooting, training, and configuration related to hardware, software, and campus network services. Additionally, the position involves managing ID card services, which includes printing ID cards for faculty, staff, and students. The successful candidate will be expected to arrive for scheduled work hours promptly, adhere to security policies, and maintain confidentiality regarding department operations. A clean and orderly work area is essential, and professionalism must be upheld at all times. The receptionist will also be responsible for understanding and following both written and orally communicated instructions, as well as providing feedback to management to improve and streamline business processes and best practices. This position is part-time, requiring availability Monday through Friday between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm, with a maximum of 19.5 hours per week. The hourly rate for this position is $12.00. Applicants must be in good academic standing, maintaining a GPA of 2.0 or higher, and must be enrolled as a degree-seeking student with a minimum of 6 credits in the current or upcoming semester at Nevada State University. Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship is also required. Responsibilities

  • Provide tier 1 walk-in support including account issue assistance, basic troubleshooting, training, and configuration issues related to hardware, software, and campus network services.

Requirements

  • Must be in good academic standing and maintain a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
  • Must be enrolled as a degree-seeking student with a minimum of 6 credits in the current or upcoming semester at Nevada State.
