About the position

The University of Nevada, Reno's Fitness and Recreational Sports (FRS) is seeking a student to fill the position of social media and marketing content creator. This role involves developing multimedia content for various social media platforms to promote the fitness center and engage the campus community in fitness activities. The position requires creativity in content production and the ability to implement marketing strategies to enhance student involvement.

Responsibilities

  • Manage social media platforms with professional, up-to-date and relevant information regarding events in the fitness center and on campus.
  • Finalize and implement overall monthly strategies based on analytics and insights.
  • Daily coverage of FRS and campus-wide events.
  • Demonstrate strong writing and digital photography skills.
  • Photograph and create content for social media platforms.
  • Promote social media within FRS and encourage staff to engage with social media platforms.
  • Manage and recruit for the Student Ambassador program.
  • Monitor, listen, and respond to users in a ‘social way'.
  • Monitor trends in social media tools, applications, channels, design, and strategy.
  • Engage in dialogue and monitor patron comments and messages.
  • Compile analytical reports showing results for management.
  • Create high-quality and informative videos.
  • Work with the Programming Coordinator to create and implement marketing strategies.
  • Assist with event planning, staffing, and other tasks as a pseudo programmer.
  • Attend events to live update social media, take photos, and promote future events.
  • Identify threats and opportunities in user-generated content surrounding the business and report notable threats to management.
  • Use technology programs including Photoshop and Illustrator.

Requirements

  • Candidate must be enrolled at the University of Nevada, Reno.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience writing, creating, and posting written and visual content to various social media platforms is preferred but not necessary.
