As a Studio Engineer at GDIT, you will play a crucial role in supporting radio and television media production services that are essential to the communications and archival goals of the Legislative Branch of the U.S. Government. This position is based in the United States Capitol building in Washington, D.C., where you will be responsible for ensuring that the Senate Recording Studio (SRS) and Executive Office have the necessary technical and production support to effectively communicate with the American public. Your contributions will directly impact the ability of Congress to engage with citizens through timely and professional media production. In this role, you will serve as the primary production and technical support resource for the Senate Recording Studio. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the uptime of broadcast studio systems to facilitate time-sensitive press engagements and production requests. You will provide expertise in broadcast systems and production to Senate staff, and you will also be responsible for cross-training select GDIT staff to ensure they are well-versed in the technical operations of the studio. Additionally, you will develop training programs for Senate staff that cover basic troubleshooting diagnostics, perform initial reviews and documentation of the technical environment, and create preventative maintenance programs along with backup and redundancy Standard Operating Procedures to ensure system availability. Your role will also involve researching, evaluating, testing, and making recommendations to the Sergeant at Arms on an ongoing basis. Once equipment acquisitions are made, you will be responsible for developing implementation plans, installing, configuring, and testing the equipment, training staff, and updating documentation as necessary. This position requires a proactive approach to ensure that the technical needs of the Senate are met efficiently and effectively, contributing to the overall mission of the U.S. Senate.
