About the position

As a Studio Engineer at GDIT, you will play a crucial role in supporting radio and television media production services that are essential to the communications and archival goals of the Legislative Branch of the U.S. Government. This position is based in the U.S. Senate Sergeant at Arms office located in the United States Capitol building in Washington, D.C. Your work will directly impact the ability of Congress to communicate effectively with the American public, ensuring that the upper body of Congress has the necessary technical and production support for their operations. In this role, you will serve as the primary production and technical support resource for the Senate Recording Studio (SRS) and the Executive Office. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the uptime of broadcast studio systems to facilitate time-sensitive press engagements and production requests. You will provide expertise in broadcast systems and production to Senate staff, and you will be responsible for cross-training select GDIT staff to ensure they are well-versed in the technical operations of the studio. Additionally, you will develop training programs for Senate staff that cover basic troubleshooting diagnostics and perform an initial baseline review and documentation of the technical environment. You will also be tasked with creating preventative maintenance programs and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for backup and redundancy to ensure system availability. Your role will involve researching, evaluating, testing, and making recommendations to the Sergeant at Arms on an ongoing basis.
