About the position

The Subcontract Administrator at Linde Engineering North America LLC is responsible for managing and administering construction subcontracts across multiple projects. This role involves facilitating the subcontractor selection process, managing the Request For Quote (RFQ) process, negotiating subcontracts, and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations. The position requires effective communication, negotiation skills, and a strong understanding of the construction industry.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate and execute the Subcontractor Selection Process.
  • Perform re-qualification processes in collaboration with SHEQ, Engineering, Project Management, and Construction.
  • Facilitate pre-award meetings and manage the RFQ process for subcontractors.
  • Identify potential subcontractors and assemble RFQ packages.
  • Coordinate RFQ clarifications and prepare commercial bid comparisons.
  • Negotiate subcontracts and finalize subcontract documents.
  • Review and approve subcontractor invoices in cooperation with site management.
  • Review and approve subcontractor insurance requirements and certificates.
  • Administer Change Order Management, including reviewing contractual basis for change orders and maintaining change order logs.
  • Enter and maintain subcontractor data in the ERP system.
  • Expedite subcontractor documentation and reporting requirements.
  • Administer Claim Management with subcontractors.

Requirements

  • BS/BA in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ten (10) or more years of experience in subcontracting.
  • Broad understanding of the construction industry and contract language.
  • Ability to identify risk and minimize associated consequences.
  • Effective negotiation and leadership skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Software, Lotus Notes, and other company-specific software applications.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
