About the position

The position involves managing subcontracting processes within the aerospace and defense sector, focusing on supplier proposals, contract negotiations, and compliance with industry regulations. The role requires effective communication and relationship-building skills, as well as a proactive approach to procurement best practices. It operates in a hybrid work environment, balancing onsite and remote work.

Responsibilities

  • Solicits and reviews supplier proposals.
  • Develops evaluation criteria for subcontractors.
  • Negotiates subcontract provisions and manages modifications.
  • Selects or recommends subcontractors and prepares subcontract packages.
  • Administers resulting subcontracts and manages supplier deliveries.
  • Coordinates material receipts and resolves issues related to contractual requirements.
  • Develops subcontract files and defines terms for procurement of specialized materials and services.
  • Participates in Zero Defect initiatives with suppliers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of related subcontracts/procurement experience in aerospace & defense, or 6 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience with subcontract administration or procurement-related activity.
  • Familiarity with defense aerospace industry regulations and procurement roles in complex industries.
  • Understanding of FAR, DFAR, ITAR, and EAR regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook).
  • DoD Secret clearance eligible.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain, or related field.
  • Desire for continuous improvement.
  • Familiarity with Oracle purchasing system.
  • Technical background with the ability to read drawings and understand technical architecture.
  • Active secret clearance.
