About the position

The Subcontracts Administrator II role at BAE Systems involves managing the procurement process for subcontracts within the aerospace and defense sector. This hybrid position requires effective communication and relationship-building skills, as well as a proactive approach to procurement compliance and best practices. The role includes soliciting supplier proposals, negotiating subcontract terms, and ensuring compliance with contractual requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Solicit and review supplier proposals and develop evaluation criteria.
  • Negotiate subcontract provisions and select or recommend subcontractors.
  • Develop subcontract packages for review and prepare awards.
  • Administer resulting subcontracts and manage supplier deliveries.
  • Coordinate material receipts and resolve issues related to contractual requirements.
  • Manage invoice issues and develop subcontract files.
  • Coordinate work requirements with the Product team and define terms and conditions for procurement.
  • Participate in Zero Defect initiatives with suppliers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of related subcontracts/procurement experience in aerospace & defense, or 6 years of related experience in lieu of degree.
  • Experience with subcontract administration or procurement related activity.
  • Familiarity with defense aerospace industry & regulations.
  • Understanding of FAR and DFAR regulations, ITAR, and EAR.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook).
  • DoD Secret clearance eligible.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain, or related field.
  • Desire for continuous improvement.
  • Familiarity with Oracle purchasing system.
  • Technical background with the ability to read drawings and understand technical architecture.
  • Active secret clearance.
