About the position

The Subcontracts Administrator at Bechtel will be responsible for the formation and administration of subcontracts within the Port Arthur LNG project. This role involves leading the preparation and review of bid request packages, ensuring compliance with project requirements, and managing subcontract performance. The position requires strong negotiation skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders to facilitate successful project outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Implement the Supply Chain Assignment Schedule for subcontract management tasks.
• Manage assigned subcontracts, providing continual progress reviews and financial forecasts.
• Coordinate with staff on operational activities affecting contractual rights and obligations.
• Negotiate less complex contract changes with customer personnel.
• Communicate subcontract terms and conditions to ensure mutual understanding.
• Prepare periodic status reports for management.
• Direct negotiation in the commitment of subcontracts and ensure execution.
• Prepare bidders' lists, pre-qualify bidders, and issue bid request packages.
• Evaluate bids commercially and prepare recommendations for approvals.
• Conduct meetings related to subcontract management and prepare meeting notes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or international equivalent.
• 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience.
• Strong negotiation skills in forming agreements and assessing subcontractor claims.
• Ability to read and understand contractual language and requirements.
• Good communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience in commercial or contract/subcontract management in the construction industry.
