About the position

As a Subject Matter Expert - Technical Project Manager (PM) at AMERICAN SYSTEMS, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our U.S. Government customer located in the National Capital Region. This position is designed for individuals who possess extensive experience in project management, systems engineering, and various technologies relevant to law enforcement domains. You will be part of a team of driven and highly skilled professionals dedicated to providing a positive customer experience while protecting our country. This role is not currently open but is a pipeline requisition to collect resumes for potential upcoming work, and qualified candidates will be contacted when an opening becomes available. In this role, you will provide technical and management leadership on major technology assignments, establishing goals and plans to meet assessment objectives. Your expert technical knowledge will be crucial in defining performance objectives and levels, as well as understanding and describing anomalies or flaws in decision-making processes related to application development or acquisition. You will also be responsible for validating requirements and deliverables of products and services produced by various projects and programs, ensuring that issues regarding program deliverables of law enforcement technologies are resolved effectively. Responsibilities

  • Provide technical and management leadership on major technology assignments.
  • Establish goals and plans to meet assessment objectives.
  • Possess expert technical knowledge of various technologies used by Law Enforcement domains.
  • Define performance objectives and performance levels.
  • Understand and describe anomalies/flaws in decision-making of application development or acquisition.
  • Validate requirements and deliverables of products and services that projects/programs produce.
  • Resolve issues regarding program deliverables of various law enforcement technologies.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in IT or Engineering field.
  • Bachelor's degree in STEM field.
  • DHS suitability clearance.
  • Experience with Department of Homeland Security.
  • Experience in systems engineering, acquisition, test and evaluation, sustainment.
  • Understanding of Systems acquisition lifecycle (e.g., ALF and MD-102).
  • Familiarity with IEEE standard 1012, IEEE Standard 829-1998, and the DHS SELC.
  • Excellent writing, communications, and briefing skills.
  • Certifications from DAU and DAWIA in Acquisition or test and evaluation.
