About the position

The Seattle office of Cozen O'Connor is seeking an experienced paralegal to support attorneys in the Subrogation Department. The ideal candidate will have 3-5+ years of experience in a plaintiff-oriented practice, with a strong background in civil litigation and familiarity with state and federal court procedures. This role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. The position offers a hybrid work schedule, allowing for both in-office and remote work.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and summarize damages
• Draft complaints, motions to compel, and other discovery motions
• Propound and respond to discovery
• Case file management including creating, organizing, tracking, and maintaining files
• Monitor calendars and meeting deadlines
• Document actions and input information into file database and case management software
• Manage documents including review, bates labeling, and organization
• Compile information for discovery responses, pleadings, and motions
• Coordinate scene examinations, destructive testing, and depositions
• Review financial and business records and prepare chronologies
• Prepare FOIA requests
• Conduct witness investigations
• Assist in trial and deposition preparation
• E-file in both state and federal court

Requirements

• 3-5+ years of experience in a plaintiff-oriented practice
• Proven civil litigation experience
• Knowledge of state and federal courts and rules of civil procedure
• Experience with e-filing
• Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate
• Excellent organizational skills
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Detail-oriented and able to work independently
• Proven computer and technology skills
