About the position

The SUBS Grant Analyst (GA) plays a crucial role in the Office of Sponsored Research Services by ensuring compliance and providing expert guidance on research administration. This position involves preparing, negotiating, and administering outgoing subagreements for sponsored research activities across the university. The GA will work closely with faculty and administrators to navigate internal and external policies, ensuring that all agreements meet regulatory standards and are processed efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review and negotiate outgoing subagreements.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory and legal frameworks affecting sponsored research agreements.
  • Provide detail-oriented review of SUBSystem Required Items and enforce compliance with policies.
  • Analyze sponsored research awards for required flow down terms and prepare appropriate outgoing subaward agreements.
  • Manage workload using status transparency for prioritization.
  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of all subawards to OSRS Signing Official for approval.
  • Administer and manage the SUBS template portfolio of attachments and internal process documents.
  • Create and approve Supplier Contracts and amendments in the university financial system (Workday).
  • Provide expert advice and training to university research administrators and faculty.
  • Manage FFATA reporting using SUBSystem FFATA reports and fsrs.gov.
  • Prepare weekly status report of SUBS teamwork load for prioritization and follow-up.
  • Assist Manager with special projects and perform other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or combination of education and/or experience may substitute for minimum education.
  • 1 year of experience in Research Administration.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with sponsored research administration in a large university environment.
  • Experience with accounting principles and federal/non-federal pre and post-award policies.
  • Knowledge of the university's organization, policies, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of the Uniform Guidance (UG).
  • Ability to negotiate key contract terms and conditions.
