About the position

The Subscription Finance Associate Portfolio Manager role at U.S. Bank involves managing and underwriting subscription lines for Commercial Real Estate (CRE) investment funds. The position is designed for candidates with at least 2 years of relevant experience in financial institutions or large corporations. The successful candidate will support senior Portfolio Managers and collaborate with Relationship Managers to oversee a portfolio of subscription lines, ensuring compliance with credit policies and conducting financial analyses.

Responsibilities

  • Support senior Portfolio Managers and partner with Relationship Managers to manage and grow a portfolio of subscription lines and institutional CRE customer relationships.
  • Apply credit policy to structure borrowing bases and underwrite a diverse range of investor types.
  • Prepare comprehensive written and financial analyses, determining appropriate risk ratings and preparing requests for credit approval.
  • Perform ongoing monitoring and analyses for an assigned loan portfolio, verifying compliance with financial/covenant reporting requirements.
  • Contribute to the team's overall portfolio & risk management activities, maintaining relevant data elements in collateral management applications.
  • Champion continuous improvement in policies, procedures, and tools employed by the business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience at a financial institution or large corporation.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), with an emphasis on Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills, including underwriting and financial statement analysis.
  • Experience with credit policies and procedures.

Nice-to-haves

  • A working knowledge of subscription finance and/or CRE market practices and underwriting considerations is preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in nCino.
  • Effective organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills.
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills with the ability to recommend and implement process improvements.
