About the position

The Subscription Management Software Designer + Developer at Packed is responsible for leading the development of a custom solution to manage personalized school lunch subscriptions. This role focuses on enhancing user experience, ensuring seamless integration with existing platforms, and providing robust reporting and analytics capabilities to support the growth of Packed's lunch program.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of a custom solution to manage personalized school lunch subscriptions, ensuring integration with the existing Shopify platform.
• Overhaul the current subscription creation and management process to provide a seamless and intuitive experience for parents.
• Ensure the platform supports unique menu options, pricing, and delivery logistics for each school.
• Oversee the creation of a user-friendly portal that allows parents to manage multiple subscriptions, skip deliveries, and update preferences with ease.
• Develop tools for the Packed team to manage menus, pricing, and bulk changes efficiently.
• Build reporting capabilities that provide insights into subscription trends, customer retention, and menu popularity.
• Implement systems to automatically send subscription confirmation emails, delivery reminders, and updates.
• Ensure smooth integration with billing systems, including dynamic billing schedules tied to delivery fulfillment dates.
• Work closely with the Packed team to refine customer journey prototypes and ensure alignment with business objectives and customer needs.
• Address any technical or process issues that arise during the development and post-launch phases.

Requirements

• Proven experience in development of custom applications that integrate with third-party systems and platforms (especially Shopify APIs).
• Proven experience building headless ecommerce solutions, separating the frontend from the backend.
• Proficient in building and customizing solutions within Shopify or similar ecommerce platforms, including subscription management apps like Seal Subscriptions.
• Knowledgeable in creating user-friendly interfaces and improving customer experiences, with experience in tools like Figma for wireframing and prototyping.
• Expertise in building robust reporting tools that analyze customer behavior, sales trends, and operational data.
• Experience implementing automated email and SMS notification systems for order confirmations, reminders, and updates.
• Understanding of backend systems for managing dynamic pricing, multiple user accounts, and location-specific product offerings.
• Ability to manage the project from concept to launch, coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
• Expertise in identifying and resolving technical issues that arise during development or integration phases.
• Ensure that the system complies with security standards, particularly when handling personal information and payment data.
