About the position

The Subsea Data Intelligence Engineering Manager at Integer Technologies will lead large, multi-year research programs focused on subsea data intelligence, particularly in autonomous decision-making and real-time data processing for uncrewed underwater vehicles. This role involves overseeing engineering teams, developing decision support frameworks, and ensuring the accuracy of subsea data collection while adapting to changing environmental conditions. The manager will also serve as a Principal Investigator, guiding the development of innovative technologies and prototypes to meet national security needs.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Principal Investigator (PI) for subsea data intelligence research programs, focusing on edge processing of subsea data and autonomous decision making.
  • Oversee technical, schedule, and budget performance for the S&T/R&D program and related products.
  • Establish a vision and plan for project outcomes that align with the Director of Mission Autonomy's vision.
  • Provide technical expertise for projects related to undersea autonomy and subsea data collection.
  • Lead the development of tools for uncrewed systems to conduct oceanographic data collection missions.
  • Design edge processing algorithms for various subsea sensors.
  • Act as the primary technical interface with academic research partners and government customers.
  • Manage deliverables to federal customers and ensure program deadlines are met.
  • Collaborate with federal sponsors to understand their missions and technology gaps.
  • Serve as Site Lead for the Gulfport Mississippi office, managing facilities and local HR activities.
  • Translate research findings into white papers and proposals for new projects.
  • Perform market analysis to identify unfilled market needs and develop a roadmap for new products.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD Secret Clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 5+ years of experience in related responsibilities.
  • Experience in oceanographic and/or seafloor sensors and data processing, AI, and edge computing for underwater vehicles.
  • Understanding of digital engineering, machine learning, and system modeling tools.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the Navy's mission and capability gaps.
  • Experience leading and managing research teams and interfacing with federal sponsors.
  • Proficiency in modern software engineering practices and experience with Python.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's or Ph.D. in a relevant field.
  • Experience running projects focused on the Navy's mission.
  • Experience with in-water testing/experimentation using uncrewed systems.
