About the position

The position is located within the Department of the Interior, specifically in the Office of the Secretary of the Interior, focusing on policy, management, and budget. The role involves planning, overseeing, and participating in the design, production, and distribution of various publications related to subsistence management. The incumbent will work under tight deadlines and will be responsible for developing communication materials for diverse audiences, while also advising management on public outreach efforts. This position offers flexibility in work location, allowing for telework options.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, oversee, and participate in the design, production, and distribution of FSMP publications.
  • Prepare and oversee the development of acquisition methods for printing and distribution.
  • Direct or initiate and track printing, distribution, and web-posting for all publications.
  • Advise managers on various printing processes, including costs and production methods.
  • Develop informational materials for culturally diverse audiences, including communication plans and public service announcements.
  • Inform management officials on current public outreach efforts and oversee multiple projects simultaneously.

Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service.
  • Experience in drafting and distributing publications in adherence to technical guidelines.
  • Experience in preparing large printing projects and conducting outreach.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in developing and implementing communication plans.
  • Knowledge of multimedia technologies and web technologies.
