About the position

The Substance Abuse Case Manager at the Heartland Regional Alcohol & Drug Assessment Center (HRADAC) is responsible for providing comprehensive assessment, service planning, and coordination to address various aspects of clients' lives. This role emphasizes a strengths-based approach and requires effective advocacy for clients to enhance their self-sufficiency. The position involves community engagement and home visits, necessitating a strong understanding of substance abuse treatment and community resources.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' needs related to substance abuse and treatment.
• Develop and implement individualized service plans based on client assessments.
• Coordinate services and resources to support clients in achieving their goals.
• Advocate for clients' needs to enhance their self-sufficiency and access to services.
• Utilize Motivational Interviewing and Brief Intervention Skills in client interactions.
• Document client progress accurately in electronic medical records.
• Participate in DCF Orientation for clients receiving cash assistance.
• Engage with diverse populations effectively and sensitively.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
• Licensure through the Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board of KS preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Experience in substance abuse assessment and treatment.
• Knowledge of family systems and human development goals.
• Ability to work autonomously and effectively with the public and staff.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Attention to detail with timely documentation and reporting.

Nice-to-haves

• Bilingual skills are a plus.
• Person Centered Case Management Certification is beneficial.
