The Substance Abuse Counselor I position at GEO Reentry Services LLC is focused on providing education and counseling related to drug and alcohol abuse within a correctional setting. The role involves developing and conducting programs aimed at rehabilitation and community reintegration, emphasizing the importance of mental health care for individuals in the correctional system. Responsibilities

• Provide relevant Substance Abuse information for class curriculum.
• Facilitate didactic educational presentations, group counseling, and individual counseling sessions.
• Select and recommend new instructional materials and programs for use in the substance abuse program.
• Maintain knowledge of new developments in the field of substance abuse.
• Maintain a collegian relationship with other substance abuse professionals, programs, and associations.
• Complete required testing, assessment, and psychosocial history on incoming residents as required.
• Participate in related training for substance abuse.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelor's degree in a social or human services field preferred.
• Certification in Alcohol and Drug Counseling within two (2) years of employment.
• Experience providing human service functions preferred.
