About the position

The Substance Abuse Psychotherapist will provide high-quality psychotherapy services to individuals struggling with substance use disorders. The primary goal is to help clients achieve and maintain sobriety, improve their mental health, and enhance their overall quality of life. The role involves working closely with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each client's unique needs.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of client's mental health and substance use disorders
  • Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans that incorporate evidence-based psychotherapeutic interventions
  • Providing individual, group, and family therapy services to clients
  • Monitoring clients' progress and adjusting treatment plans as needed
  • Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and effective care

Requirements

  • Master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related field
  • Active DC Independent Clinical licensure (LICSW, LPC, LMFT, Licensed Psychologist)
  • At least 2 years of clinical experience providing psychotherapy services to individuals with substance use disorders
  • Knowledge of evidence-based psychotherapeutic interventions for substance use disorders
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
