About the position
The TEAP Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining an effective trainee employee assistance program (TEAP) aimed at raising awareness and preventing substance use and abuse among students. This role involves working closely with students during their probation period, providing assessments, intervention plans, and ongoing training for staff to identify and address substance abuse issues.
Responsibilities
- Develop procedures to coordinate TEAP components with other center programs and policies.
- Work with new students for testing, assessments, and development of assistance plans during the 45-day probation period.
- Provide assessment and assistance/intervention plans for students who test positive for drugs or alcohol.
- Collaborate with counseling, health/wellness, and human resources departments for necessary referrals.
- Conduct ongoing comprehensive training for all staff on identifying and reporting substance abuse problems.
- Facilitate TEAP classes, group education, and prevention sessions for students and staff.
Requirements
- Unrestricted, active substance abuse certification or license per state requirement.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
