As a Substation Design Electrical Engineer at Black & Veatch, you will function as a technical lead in substation design, which encompasses distribution, subtransmission, and transmission level voltage classes. Your primary responsibilities will include performing substation design, which involves both physical design and protective relaying/control. You will actively participate in management, project scheduling, and work/resource planning meetings, ensuring that projects are executed efficiently and effectively. This role requires direct interaction with clients, vendors, and subcontractors, and you will also be responsible for quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) of projects while mentoring junior engineers. This position is based in College Station, TX, and supports projects in the area. While it is preferred for candidates to be located near College Station, those willing to relocate will also be considered. The role offers a hybrid work schedule, requiring you to commute to the office three times a week and work remotely for two days. You will be part of BV's Energy & Process business, which is dedicated to meeting clients' rapidly changing infrastructure needs in the generation, storage, transmission, and distribution of safe, reliable electric power.
