About the position

The Substation Designer I position at Primoris Power Solutions involves providing technical direction for substation engineering and design projects. The role focuses on delivering safe, cost-effective, and quality engineering services while developing skills in the field under close supervision. The designer will engage in problem-solving and contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering knowledge and performance.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering/technical expertise and guidance in identifying, analyzing, and resolving problems.
• Plan, organize, estimate, schedule, and monitor work activities effectively.
• Prepare thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations, and sketches.
• Engage in continuous improvement of job-related engineering, technical, and professional knowledge, skills, and performance.
• Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.
• Maintain accurate records and files.

Requirements

• Understanding of basic engineering theories and principles.
• Understanding of basic practices of researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, and making sound recommendations.
• Ability to interact with individuals from various socio-economic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
