About the position
The Substation Engineer will be responsible for the design, installation, and maintenance of substations within an electric utility environment. This role requires a strong understanding of FACTS and transmission substation design, ensuring that all equipment is properly selected, installed, and tested. The engineer will collaborate with other professionals while also being capable of working independently to meet project deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Design substation layouts and select appropriate equipment.
- Install and test substation equipment.
- Perform maintenance on substation equipment, including preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with other engineers, technicians, and construction crews.
- Work independently to meet project deadlines.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in substation design, installation, and maintenance.
- Strong understanding of FACTS, design, and transmission substations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
