About the position

As a Substation Engineer at AtkinsRealis, you will be responsible for designing and preparing engineering drawings for substation projects, ensuring compliance with electrical codes and standards. This role involves collaboration with a multi-discipline team to develop innovative design solutions that contribute to the success of various projects in the utilities industry.

Responsibilities

• Develop and prepare efficient and reliable electrical design packages for medium and high voltage substations.
• Perform calculations and analysis to validate design solutions and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
• Collaborate with the project team, including engineers, technicians, and contractors, to develop innovative design solutions.
• Review and approve contractor submittals and drawings to ensure adherence to project specifications.
• Conduct site visits and inspections during construction to monitor progress and address any design-related issues.
• Provide technical support to field personnel, answering questions and resolving technical problems as they arise.

Requirements

• 5+ years of substation design engineering experience.
• Experience in the power utility field.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• PE license is a plus.
• Experience with high and medium voltage.
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering field.
