About the position
The Graduate Engineer position at Ulteig is designed for recent graduates in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering to support the Substation Department. The role involves performing routine engineering tasks, creating technical drawings, and conducting calculations under the guidance of experienced engineers. This position emphasizes a hybrid work environment to enhance learning and collaboration among team members.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the design, development, and implementation of engineering systems related to substation design.
- Create physical substation arrangements, sections/elevations, conduit/grounding layout plans, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Perform design calculations, sketches, plan preparation, and technical comparisons.
- Develop plans, specifications, and observation reports to ensure accuracy and adherence to engineering practices.
- Recommend alterations to improve design quality and efficiency.
- Work closely with engineering technicians and experienced electrical engineers.
- Prepare reports and correspondence regarding project direction.
- Participate in marketing, sales, and business development activities within the assigned market.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited program or equivalent.
- Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam or ability to obtain within 1 year of hire.
- Engineering internship experience preferred.
- Electrical power systems coursework preferred.
- Proven experience in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access).
- Ability to apply current engineering techniques and procedures to complete tasks.
