About the position

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Childcare Provider to join our team at Make New Friends Home Daycare. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children, engaging them in activities that promote their physical, emotional, and social development. This part-time role requires working one of two shifts every weekday, either from 7 AM to 12 PM or from 12 PM to 5 PM.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and ensure the safety of children at all times.
• Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that foster learning and development.
• Assist with daily routines including meal times, nap times, and personal hygiene.
• Maintain a clean and organized environment conducive to learning.
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress and any concerns.
• Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive interactions among children.
• Support early childhood education initiatives through structured play and educational activities.
• Keep accurate records of children's activities, progress, and any incidents.

Requirements

• Knowledge of First Aid and CPR.
• Adult, child, and infant CPR, First Aid and AED certification required.
• Experience in childcare settings such as preschools or as a nanny.
• Familiarity with childhood development theories and practices.
• Strong classroom management skills to maintain a positive learning environment.
• Ability to engage with children in a way that promotes their emotional well-being.
• Experience working with diverse groups of children, including those with special needs.

Nice-to-haves

• A background in early childhood education is preferred but not mandatory.
