About the position

This position is for current student teachers who wish to substitute for their cooperating teacher in Cabarrus County Schools. The role involves maintaining classroom routines, instructing students in the absence of the regular teacher, and ensuring a safe and productive learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Communicates, collaborates, and cooperates with colleagues, supervisors, and students.
• Maintains established routines and procedures of the school and classroom to which assigned.
• Assumes responsibilities for instructing classes when a teacher is absent.
• Oversees student behavior in class, during lunch, and other activities.
• Follows all district and individual school policies, rules, and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the School Administrator.

Requirements

• Valid Teaching Certification license (current or expired).
• Experience in lesson planning.
• Good discipline skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
• Ability to read and write.
• Ability to administer teacher lesson plans.
• Ability to ensure a safe and healthful environment.
• Ability to assist students with understanding of rules and regulations.
• Ability to maintain cleanliness and neatness.
• Ability to maintain proper professional conduct.
• Ability to keep personal, student, or personnel records confidential.

Benefits

• Daily pay ranging from $113 to $123 based on certification status.
