About the position
Windermere Preparatory School is seeking an experienced Substitute Nurse to provide as-needed support in our Lower, Middle, or High Schools. The Substitute Nurse will oversee and implement school health policies and programs, deliver primary health care, and respond to emergencies. This role promotes student wellness and serves as a key resource for health concerns within the school community.
Responsibilities
- Administer medication and perform health care procedures as needed.
- Assist in conducting health screenings.
- Support the management of students with chronic health conditions and disabilities.
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid as required.
- Maintain accurate health records and ensure compliance with health regulations.
- Collaborate effectively with students, parents, staff and healthcare providers.
- Perform additional health-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Current Florida RN license
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
- CPR and First Aid Certification (current).
- Minimum 3 years of nursing experience, preferably in a school or pediatric setting.
- Ability to assess situations and respond promptly and effectively.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with students, parents, school staff, and external health agencies.
- A genuine interest in student health and wellness.
