About the position

The Substitute Teacher position at Guidepost Montessori is an on-call role that supports multiple mixed-age Montessori classrooms. This flexible position allows individuals to step in as needed when full-time teachers are unavailable due to illness or vacation. The role serves as an excellent entry point into the organization, with many substitutes transitioning into full-time Assistant Teacher positions. Training will be provided during orientation, making it accessible for those without formal Montessori training.

Responsibilities

• Provide coverage for full-time teachers when they are out sick or on vacation.
• Support multiple mixed-age Montessori classrooms as needed.
• Engage with children in a warm and friendly manner.
• Follow the Montessori educational approach during interactions with students.

Requirements

• Negative TB test within the last 12 months.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Valid state background check.
• Warm and friendly demeanor.

Nice-to-haves

• Early Childhood Education (ECE) units.
• Recent teaching experience with children aged 0-6.
