About the position
The Stanwood-Camano School District is seeking Substitute School Nurses for PreK-12 on an on-call as-needed basis. This position requires a registered nurse only. Upon selection for hire, candidates must complete fingerprinting requirements at their cost and complete all payroll paperwork and identification prior to being called as a substitute. Substitute shifts vary based on specific schedules between 7:30 a.m. and 3:45 p.m. Substitutes are called on an as-needed basis, and there is no guarantee of how many days you will be called. Candidates must ensure availability during these hours before applying for substitute status. The role involves fulfilling the job of a school nurse on a day-to-day basis to provide the fullest possible educational opportunity for each district student and contribute to a climate of health and well-being in the district schools by minimizing student absence due to illness or injury.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to students on a day-to-day basis.

Requirements
- Job-related experience in community health, hospital/clinical settings and/or school nursing desired.
- Experience caring for an individual with Type 1 Diabetes.
- Hold an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in nursing from an accredited college or a degree from an accredited School of Nursing.
- Active Washington State License as Registered Nurse.
