About the position
The Substitute School Nurse will provide essential nursing care to students in the absence of the regular school nurse. This role involves assisting with individualized care for students with special health care needs, performing delegated nursing duties, and ensuring the health and safety of students across multiple school sites.
Responsibilities
- Fill in for the regular school nurse under the supervision of the district nurse.
- Perform delegated nursing duties as per student health plans.
- Assist in non-invasive procedures such as tube feedings and nebulizers.
- Administer medications and maintain accurate records.
- Communicate effectively with families and school district employees.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding all school business.
Requirements
- Licensed Practice Nurse (LPN) certification.
