About The Position

Substitute Nurses are required to have an active Illinois R.N. or LPN license and experience in school nursing for grades K-12. Candidates must possess effective communication, nursing, and collaboration skills. This position may involve experiences with health education, chronic disease management, communicable disease, immunizations, first-aid, and medication administration. The working hours for this position are from 7:45 am to 3:45 pm on an as-needed basis.

Requirements

• Active Illinois R.N. or LPN license
• Experience in school nursing for grades K-12

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to students in grades K-12
• Administer first-aid and medication as needed
• Manage chronic diseases and communicable diseases among students
• Conduct health education sessions
• Collaborate with school staff and parents regarding student health issues
