About the position
Substitute Nurses are required to have an active Illinois R.N. or LPN license and experience in school nursing for grades K-12. Candidates must possess effective communication, nursing, and collaboration skills. This position may involve experiences with health education, chronic disease management, communicable disease, immunizations, first-aid, and medication administration. The working hours for this position are from 7:45 am to 3:45 pm on an as-needed basis.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to students in grades K-12
- Administer first-aid and medication as needed
- Manage chronic diseases and communicable diseases among students
- Conduct health education sessions
- Collaborate with school staff and parents regarding student health issues
Requirements
- Active Illinois R.N. or LPN license
- Experience in school nursing for grades K-12
- Effective communication skills
- Strong nursing and collaboration skills
